- Develop a modern e-commerce platform for LensFit, specializing in contact lenses, eye care products, and related accessories;
- Replace the existing WordPress/WooCommerce solution with a custom-built platform offering greater flexibility, performance, and scalability;

Solution
- The platform was rebuilt from scratch as a custom headless e-commerce solution using Next.js, React, TypeScript, Strapi CMS, PostgreSQL, and a self-hosted infrastructure.
- Developed a specialized contact lens configurator supporting prescription parameters, lens characteristics, quantity selection, and validation directly within the purchasing process.
- Implemented advanced product search and filtering, customer accounts, wishlists, order history, coupon management, and a streamlined checkout experience.
- Integrated Klix payment gateway, Omniva, DPD, Unisend, and Venipak delivery services, including parcel locker selection and fulfillment management tools.
- Built a custom administration system for order processing, invoice generation, shipping label management, catalog administration, content management, and operational workflows.
- Implemented AI-powered product comparison functionality using OpenAI, helping customers evaluate lens specifications and receive personalized recommendations.
- Integrated Sentry and New Relic monitoring, automated notifications, abandoned cart recovery workflows, SEO optimization tools, and deployment automation.
Result – A fully custom e-commerce platform was successfully launched for LensFit, providing significantly greater flexibility than the previous WooCommerce solution, advanced lens-specific purchasing functionality, integrated operational workflows, AI-powered customer assistance, and a scalable foundation for future expansion.
