GDPR: new rules for processing personal data in Europe for the international IT market

What happened, and what is GDPR?

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is the European regulation on the protection of user data, which comes into force on 25 May 2018.

Why are these rules being introduced?

GDPR is being introduced to give users back control over their personal data. Users have the right to know what data about them is stored and how companies handle it.

Who is affected by these rules?

Any company that holds the data of even one citizen of any European country in its database of subscribers or customers.

What will change for your customers?

After 25 May 2018, your users and customers must be able to:

  • give consent to the use and storage of their data
  • understand what data you store and why
  • unsubscribe from any of your mailings
  •  delete their data from your database
  • be informed within 72 hours if their data is leaked

What do we offer?

  • An audit of your WordPress website and preparation for the new rules
  • A notice that you collect cookies and use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel and AdWords Pixel
  • Notices on contact forms, and the creation of privacy policy and website terms-of-use pages
  • We can also set up browser push notifications, which are not covered by GDPR
