It is &#8220;self-hosted ownership and maintenance&#8221; vs &#8220;hosted platform subscription and app ecosystem&#8221;. A small standard store may be cheaper and faster on Shopify. A content-heavy or custom store may become more efficient on WooCommerce because fewer core decisions are locked inside a hosted platform.<\/p>\n<h2>SEO and content: both can rank, but they work differently<\/h2>\n<p>Both Shopify and WordPress can rank in Google and be understood by AI assistants if the site has useful content, clear structure, fast pages, crawlable URLs, schema where appropriate and real expertise. Platform choice alone will not make a weak store rank.<\/p>\n<p>WordPress has an advantage when content is central to the business: guides, comparison pages, landing pages, blog content, case studies, multilingual service pages and custom content types.
