# How to Create Your Own Facebook Feed in WordPress

Sep 9, 2025/by [Vadim Pavlovich](https://coma.lv/en/author/djcoma/)

You can display posts from your Facebook page or group on your own site, and in this article we will explain how to do it.

## When and Why to Create Your Own Facebook Feed on Your Site

Facebook is one of the largest social platforms in the world. If you have a page or a group, you can use it to communicate with your audience, publish news and promote content. However, the posts you publish on Facebook are not visible on your site. By adding a Facebook feed to your site, you:

- show fresh posts right on your WordPress pages;
- increase engagement and the number of followers;
- save time — updates appear automatically;
- can style the feed block to match your site.

Now let’s see how to do all this.

**Note:** most features, including displaying images in posts and the ability to create several feeds, are available only in the **Pro version** of the plugin.

## Connecting the Feed

First you need to install a plugin that will display the feed. Go to **Plugins → Add New** and type “Smash Balloon” in the search. Install and activate the **Smash Balloon Social Post Feed** plugin. After activation, the plugin will offer to go through a setup wizard, which helps you quickly connect an account and enable the features you need.

The first step is to connect your Facebook account. To do this, click **Add New**, then **Connect to Facebook**, log in with your account and grant access to the selected page or group. The access does not give the plugin the right to manage your pages — it is needed only to get the list of pages and load their public content through the API. If you already have a ready **API Access Token**, you can use the **Add Account Manually** link to add the details by hand.

After connecting the account, click **Next** to go to the **Configure Features** section, where you can set up the plugin’s additional features.

- **Facebook User Feed** — the main feature, which lets you create and display feeds from the connected pages and groups.
- **Downtime Prevention** — protection against downtime: if for some reason the feed cannot update, the site will still display the saved version of the feed.
- **Localization** — choosing the interface language of the built-in elements provided by Facebook. By default it is set to **English (US)**.
- **Social Feed Collection** — an offer to install plugins for Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok to add feeds from other platforms.
- **Customer Reviews Plugin** — an additional module for displaying reviews from Google or Yelp, which helps build visitors’ trust.

On the final screen the plugin shows an overview of the connected accounts and the activated features.

If you have purchased a license, you can paste the license key here in the **Paste license key here** field and click **Activate** to unlock the Pro features. If you wish, you can complete the setup without entering a key by choosing **Complete Setup Without Upgrading**.

## Embedding the Feed on Your Site

After you finish setting up the feed through the **Setup Wizard**, you land in the **All Feeds** section, which shows a list of all the feeds you have created. Here you can fully configure the feed and prepare it for display on the site.

First click **Add New** to create a feed, choose its type and connect the page or group you need.

After choosing the page you will get to the feed customization interface: here you can change the layout, color scheme, spacing, fonts and other elements. All changes are shown in real time, which lets you fit the feed precisely to your site’s style.

When you have finished customizing, use the **Embed a Feed** option to add the feed to a page or widget. To do this, click **Embed** in the upper right corner of the interface.

The plugin provides a shortcode that you can paste into any WordPress page or post.

Alternatively, you can use the Gutenberg block available in the editor.

After the page is published, the latest Facebook posts will automatically be displayed on the site.

If you need to show feeds from several pages or groups, you can create a separate connection for each source. Each feed will have its own shortcode, which lets you flexibly distribute feeds across the pages and sections of the site.

## Conclusion

Integrating a Facebook feed into WordPress helps connect your social activity with your site, hold visitors’ attention and show fresh news without extra effort. All that is required is to set up the connection once, and new publications will automatically appear on the site’s pages. It is a simple and reliable way to keep your site alive and up to date.
